Meet Lisa 👋. With a PhD in molecular biology, she decided to upskill and completed our 12-week intensive Data Science course where she discovered her passion for coding.
Tell us a little about your professional background before the bootcamp?
I have a PhD in molecular biology and worked for several years in preclinical research.
What made you want to make the switch to Data Science?
I love science and was always aware of the great potential computer science offers for research and development. SPICED gave me the confidence taking a step into Data Science and uncovered my passion for coding!
What was it about SPICED Data Science bootcamp that appealed to you?
A great community and the will to offer individual support. A great learning atmosphere independent of your programming level.
How was your time at SPICED?
The bonding within the cohort is amazing, all of the teachers are passionate about teaching and offered individual support. I never expected to be able to work in Data Science at this high level after only 3 months.
Do you have any advice for future Spicedlings?
Celebrate the little successes, don’t be shy to ask for support and enjoy your learning experience!
